I heard a couple of quotes recently that I liked. My friend Sarah said this the other day:

I like going to bookstores. It's like going to a party and seeing all your old friends.

And one from John, Sarah's father. It's been raining relentlessly in Seattle. His observation:

This rain is like talking to a boring person. You know you're not going to die of it, but you wish you would, just a little bit.
