Another blog?

It's perverse, actually, to have yet another blog. I have the wordzguy blog on LJ for linguistical fun and an in-house blog at work to comment and whinge about blue-badge stuff. So why this?
A couple of reasons, I suppose. One was to have a place for more free-form expression that might include words and work and home and whatever. I could have done that probably anyplace -- blogspot, livejournal, whatever. Which suggests a second motivation, namely, to have an excuse to create a real application in ASP.NET and Web Matrix, the latter as an extension of the book project from last year. My incentive to code up a blog was not just to have an excuse to stretch my skills. I have missed features such as searching when working with livejournal, so I'm adding that feature here. (I might never need it here, but now I've got it.)
The process has been interesting, of course, and not without its frustrations. Naturally, I anticipate having to debug the code and tweak the design until it seems satisfactory. Longer term I hope that I can include forthcoming ASP.NET features, but that's a ways off yet.
For now, though, better go to bed. Somehow it's too darn easy to stay up late fooling with this thing ...
